Help out by being a Friend of the Lions

The Lechlade and District Lions is a charity run by about 20 volunteers which organises practical and financial help for those in need in our community and raises funds for local good causes and charities (and occasionally donates to international crises like Ukraine).

You can read all about who we are and what we do at www.lechladelions.org.uk

A ‘Friend of the Lions’ is someone who can spare a few hours from time to time to lend a hand to help us organise an event, or provide a service, or help raise funds. Someone we can contact if we need a little extra help - and you can decide if you can or can’t spare the time when asked. There is no obligation to attend meetings or pay subscriptions or commit your time on a regular basis.

As a Friend of the Lions we will keep you up to date with our activities and ask for your help when needed. If you can help as a volunteer, we will provide

  • Details of when and where you can help, and for how long,

  • Information on what helping out will entail, so you know what to do,

  • Provide any appropriate clothing (like a high vis jacket if relevant)

  • Ensure insurance cover for when you are helping out.

Our ‘district’ is Fairford, Lechlade, Broughton Poggs, Coln St Aldwyns, Eastleach, Filkins, Fyfield, Inglesham, Kelmscott, Kempsford, Kencot, Little Farringdon, Southrop and Whelford.
